Overseas Voting Registration Now Open at the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne

Kicking off the 2025–2027 Overseas Voting (OV) registration period with our first registrant at the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne!

Melbourne, Australia – The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne announces that Overseas Voting (OV) registration has officially commenced today, 1 December 2025, and will continue until 30 September 2027, in accordance with the guidelines of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the Department of Foreign Affairs–Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA-OVS).

All qualified Filipinos in Victoria are invited to register at the Consulate during this registration period. Filipinos residing in South Australia and Tasmania will likewise have the opportunity to register during the Consulate’s scheduled outreach missions to their respective areas. The Consulate encourages the Filipino community to take advantage of these opportunities to ensure their eligibility to participate in the Philippine national elections in 2028.

Eligible to register are:

  • Overseas Filipino Worker (Landbased or Seafarer)
  • Dual Citizens
  • Overseas Filipinos over 18 years old by 08 May 2028
  • Registered overseas voters who need to reactivate, transfer, or update their records, including changes in address or civil status

Requirements:

  • Valid Philippine passport
  • For seafarers: Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB)
  • For dual citizens: Certified copy of Approval of Retention of Reacquisition of Philippine Citizenship

Application Form:

OV registration is conducted in person at the Consulate during regular business hours, and during official outreach missions for South Australia and Tasmania. Applicants are encouraged to monitor the Consulate’s website and social media pages for announcements on outreach schedules, updates, and additional guidelines.

The Philippine Consulate General calls on all overseas Filipinos under its jurisdiction to participate actively in the democratic process by registering early and ensuring their records are up to date.
