RENUNCIATION OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP

Renunciation of Philippine citizenship is a voluntary act of giving up your Philippine citizenship after acquiring foreign citizenship.

Kindly prepare TWO (2) SETS of the following:

  1. Affidavit of Renunciation of Philippine Citizenship
  2. Philippine Passport
    • Submit original and two (2) photocopies of passport data page. Original passport will be cancelled and retained at the Philippine Consulate General.
  3. Identification Certificate, Oath of Allegiance, Order of Approval (For Dual Citizens)
    • Submit original and two (2) photocopies. Original dual citizenship papers will be cancelled and retained at the Philippine Consulate General.
  4. PSA Birth Certificate / Report of Birth
    • Submit original and two (2) photocopies.
  5. Foreign / Australian Certificate of Naturalization
    • Submit original and two (2) photocopies.
  6. Foreign / Australian Passport
    • Submit original and two (2) photocopies.
  7. Proof of Parent/s Philippine Citizenship at the the time of child’s birth (For those born in Australia)
    • Submit two (2) photocopies of parent/s proof of Filipino citizenship such as Australian Naturalization Certificate, Visa, and Philippine passport.
  8. Notarization Fee
    • Notarization of Affidavit – A$45.00 Cash and Debit Card Only (Please bring the physical card)
    • Oath of Renunciation – A$45.00 Cash and Debit Card Only (Please bring the physical card).

Step 1 – Set up an Appointment under Dual Citizenship Services.

Step 2 – On the appointment day, proceed to the Reception Desk for window assignment to submit the documentary requirements listed above and sign the Affidavit of Renunciation in front of the Consular Officer.

Step 3 – Pay the necessary fees.

Step 4 – Take the Oath of Renunciation before the Consular Officer. Receive the duly notarized Affidavit of Renunciation of Philippine Citizenship and the Oath of Renunciation after.

Step 5 – Consulate will forward copies of the Affidavit and Oath of Renunciation, including supporting documents to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and the Bureau of Immigration.
