15 April 2026, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – The Philippine Consul General in Melbourne, Jesus R. met with officials of the RMIT Asia Hub on 15 April 2026 to discuss possible areas of collaboration in connection with the Philippines’ 2026 Chairmanship of ASEAN and the 80th anniversary of Philippines-Australia relations.
Consul General Jesus R.S. Domingo met with Ms. Louisa Walsh, Associate Director, RMIT Asia Impact, and Mr. James Scullin, Programs Director, Asia Society Australia. The meeting explored possible cooperation on initiatives relating to the Filipino-Australian diaspora, the Philippine business community, and broader Australia-Philippines engagement.
The discussion also covered possible engagement with Philippine APEC stakeholders and ways to strengthen policy, academic, and industry linkages between the Philippines and Australia.
The Consulate General welcomes opportunities for continued engagement with RMIT and other institutions in Melbourne in support of stronger Philippines-Australia ties. END
