03 September 2025, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Philippine Consul General Jesus R. S. Domingo, accompanied by Consuls Ralph Vincent C. Abarquez and Jan Sherwin P. Wenceslao, met with Ms. Naila Mazzuco, Victorian Government Commissioner for Trade and Investment for Southeast Asia, and Ms. Laura Burke, Senior Regional Manager for Southeast Asia & Greater China, Global Victoria, during the latter’s visit to Melbourne for the World Chambers Congress.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of the Philippines–Victoria economic relationship, which continues to grow through strong people-to-people links and expanding trade and investment. Both sides recognized the positive trajectory of relations and expressed optimism about exploring new areas of collaboration in the coming years, particularly in the supply of commodities, as well as in emerging sectors such as AI, fintech, BPOs, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences, alongside opportunities in transnational education delivery.
The meeting concluded with both parties committing to further explore collaborations that leverage the strengths of each region to boost economic growth and development.
The Consulate General underscored its commitment to further strengthening partnerships between the Philippines and Victoria, supporting opportunities that will benefit both communities and contribute to shared prosperity.
