October 26, 2023, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne represented the City of Manila at the Business Partner Cities (BPC) Roundtable, organized by the City of Melbourne. This year’s theme revolved around “Fostering Thriving Cities through the Intersection of Health, Business, and Innovation.”
Consul General Maria Lourdes M. Salcedo delivered a presentation underscoring Manila’s remarkable growth and dynamic business environment despite the many challenges attendant to a densely populated landscape. She also cited several pivotal health initiatives, innovation programs, and strategic future plans to achieve resilience and sustainability goals.
The BPC Roundtable coincided with the visit of Mr. Hideyuki Yokoyama, Mayor of Osaka, to Melbourne. Lord Mayor Sally Capp of Melbourne hosted a dinner on 25 October in honor of Osaka Mayor’s visit to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Melbourne-Osaka sister city partnership,
