The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne supported the last episode of the Season 2: online “Fiesta Filipinas: An Online Celebration of Philippine Festival featuring Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival,” on 26 November 2022. Fiesta Filipinas is a cultural diplomacy initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, the Department of Tourism, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
In this online event, the participants experienced the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival virtual tour to Leyte and joined the live session in the comfort and safety of their homes.
The participants experienced the D-I-Y stenciled throw pillow wherein they stenciled the famed festival tattoo markings on a pillow case included in the kit, as part of their online activity.
The Pintados-Kasadyaan of Leyte seeks to remind us how creative Filipinos are when it comes to singing, dancing, and even body art. One participant said, “The Pintados-Kasadyaan festival was such an inspiration.”
The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne was again assisted by Ms. Rosa Almencion, also known as Mommy YouTuber, in airing and sharing the event with her growing audience.
