PR-04-2023

For the second year in a row, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines joined the recently concluded Asia Pacific Incentive and Meetings Events held on 14 and 15 February 2023 at the Melbourne Conference and Convention Center.

According to TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Nograles in her letter to Consul General Maria Lourdes Salcedo dated 30 January 2023, TBP’s participation in the AIME 2022 proved to be a successful demonstration of the country’s readiness for tourism. A total of 120 sales leads were generated and estimated to contribute over P90 million should these interests lead materialize in the coming next years.

In a huddle with Consul General Salcedo is Mr. Sam Heine, Sales Agent representative of Philippine Airlines.

There seems to be an increased interest from the ANZ market to travel to the Philippines as borders have re-opened and restrictions are lifted, according to Mr. Arnold Gonzales, TBP Department Manager who headed the delegation with Ms. Mikaela Fuentes as his assistant. This year, TPB shared a booth with Philippine Airlines just side-by-side with the booth of Indonesia. “We are excited about the bright prospects in the Australian market, particularly with the opening of the direct flight Perth-Manila,” according to Mr. Sam Heine, National Sales Manager, RAKSO Australia Pty Ltd, General Sales Agent representative of Philippine Airlines.
