MELBOURNE PCG CELEBRATES FILIPINO HERITAGE AT LA TROBE’S PRICELESS COLLECTION OF FILIPINO LITERATURE AND NEW FILIPINO RESTAURANT CAFÉ KUSINA

On 02 September 2023, Saturday, the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne visited La Trobe University’s Borchardt Library in Bundoora. The library showcased their Philippine Collection, which includes a selection of rare materials from history and society to scientific research on the Philippines’ diverse flora, fauna, and urban environments. The Borchardt Library has been a resource hub for Filipino-related materials since the late 1960s.

Following the library visit, the Consulate also visited Café Kusina, a restaurant offering a taste of the Philippines located on Burke Road in Camberwell. The menu features an array of Filipino dishes, including fan-favorites like crispy pata and kare-kare.

The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne urges Filipinos in Australia to explore and support Filipino arts exhibits, products, and other forms of artistic expression, both locally and globally.
