PR-23-2025
15–16 November 2025, ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA — The Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne, together with the Migrant Workers’ Office (MWO)–Canberra, conducted a two-day Consular Mobile Outreach led by Consul Jan Sherwin P. Wenceslao. The mission delivered 147 consular services (e-passports; reacquisition/retention of Philippine citizenship under R.A. 9225; civil registry; notarials; certifications), including oath-taking ceremonies for 29 principal petitioners (with 5 derivatives). MWO-Canberra processed an additional 89 transactions for Verification of Contracts and Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs), bringing total services to 236. Clients expressed appreciation for the cost and time savings of receiving services locally rather than traveling to Melbourne.
During the outreach, attendees were informed that overseas voter registration for the 2028 Philippine elections will run 01 December 2025 to 30 September 2027, and that overseas voting will be conducted online via the Overseas Voting and Counting System (OVCS), with enrollment guidance to be issued by COMELEC and the Consulate. The Consulate General reaffirms its commitment to regular outreach in South Australia and Tasmania to better serve Filipinos across its jurisdiction.
